A Year in the Making

Well y'all, it's official! I have been accepted to an education internship in Australia! I've been preparing for this opportunity for the last year and I'm so excited to see it coming through! It's finally beginning to feel real. I've already started an Australia board on Pinterest and I'm making a long to-do list. I don't want to miss anything while I am there. Koalas are at the top of my list, along with the Great Barrier Reef and hiking the outback. But besides exploring the world, I get to spend 10 weeks soaking up everything the Australian education system has to offer. While that might bore most people, it's the part I am most excited about. Now don't get me wrong, I am proud to be from Texas. We have the best food, best music, and the best people, BUT our education system has completely failed us. This is why I have chosen Australia for my study abroad internship. They have an incredible education system; ranked 6th in the world. I cannot wait to learn their techniques and absorb everything they have to teach me. Afterwards, I can come back to my beautiful state a better teacher with a once in a lifetime experience. I'm thrilled for such an opportunity and the fact that I get to do all of this with my best friend and my person just puts the icing on the cake! (: Collin and I leave for Australia in less than five months! Look out world, we're coming!

P.S. For all of you reading this who are thinking that koalas are not bears, you are missing the point!
